SMP results over time: questions about aftercare and maintenance

If you are exploring scalp micropigmentation, ask how the appearance will be reviewed over time and how any future maintenance would be quoted. We do not promise an identical result for every client or a fixed number of years before further work is needed.

Start with the appearance you want

SMP uses pigment to create the appearance of closely shaved hair or greater density, or to soften the appearance of a scalp scar. It does not grow new hair or remove a scar. Explain how you wear your hair now, the areas you want to discuss and the appearance you hope to achieve.

Browse our results gallery and ask which examples are relevant to your goals. A photograph is an example of one person's treatment, rather than a promise of your outcome. Ask when a photograph was taken; it should not be treated as evidence of five-year or ten-year results unless that timing is documented.

Discuss your appointment plan

The treatment area, proposed design and your individual requirements should guide the appointment plan. Confirm the number, duration and spacing of sessions at consultation. Ask what would prompt a review before the next session, rather than assuming a generic timetable applies to you.

Our session planning and aftercare guide lists useful questions to bring. SMP BY G uses Bishop pigments and single-use needles, with two treatment rooms. You can also ask how shade selection and treatment-room preparation are approached.

Clarify aftercare and future reviews

Follow the written aftercare guidance provided for your own treatment. Before leaving, ask which products and activities to avoid, when your usual routine can resume, and how to contact the studio if you are unsure about an instruction. Raise personal scalp or medical concerns before proceeding.

Discuss how to review the appearance over time and when to contact the studio about changes. Any future maintenance or touch-up work should be assessed and quoted individually. We do not advertise a guaranteed maintenance interval or promise that a touch-up will reproduce the original appearance.

Confirm starting prices and total cost

Treatment prices are starting amounts in AUD per session: mild hair loss from $400, medium hair loss from $600, full head or advanced hair loss from $800, density from $750, and scar camouflage from $450. These amounts cover one session. Your final per-session quote and total treatment plan cost are confirmed at consultation.
